WP2: Gravitational waves physics
Coordinators: Ettore Majorana (INFN), Massimiliano Razzano (University of Pisa), Norma Robertson (California Institute of Technology)
We will contribute to the optimization of the localization strategy of gravitational wave events to allow searching for electromagnetic counterparts in a fully developed multi-messenger approach. We will also participate in the design and definition of third generation gravitational wave detectors. This will include identifying the science potential of a hybrid network of advanced 2nd generation and 3rd generation detectors.
