HOWTOs for the NEWS website
In this page you will find some (hopefully) useful directions to add material to the NEWS website. If you have problems, please send an email to massimiliano.razzano@unipi.it
Howto insert a new paper in the NEWS website
- Go to the NEWS internal homepage
- Click the link “Add New Material” under the Resources section. You will be redirected to a “Add New File” page
- Fill the details of the paper: Title in this format: J. Doe et al. 2018, “Title of the paper, Journal, Volume
- Fill the details about the authors, and abstract in the text box
- In the right sidebar, look for the upload tab, and click to “Select File” and select the PDF file (or other format)that you want to load to the website. Be sure that after you have uploaded the file, its name appears under the “Attach file” tab. If you see a red icon with white flag, just ignore it.
- If you want to add tags describing your file, please add it under the “Tags” tab
- Under the “Categories” tab click on “Publication”
- If you want to make the file visible only fo the Management Board (MB), or the Scientific Board (SB), click on the related boxes
- to finalize the procedure, click on the “Publish” button
- In order to make sure tha the file has been correctly added, go to the list of files
- You’re done! If you have any problem with this template, just drop an email
Howto insert a new presentation (i.e. slides) in the NEWS website
- Go to the NEWS internal homepage
- Click the link “Add New Material” under the Resources section. You will be redirected to a “Add New File” page
- Fill the title of the presentation in the Title text box, with this format: J. Doe, (or other authors, if any), “Title of my slides”, Conference name, date, year, place.
- Fill details of the paper: abstract (if any) in the text box
- In the right sidebar, look for the upload tab, and click to “Select File” and select the PDF file (or other format)that you want to load to the website. Be sure that after you have uploaded the file, its name appears under the “Attach file” tab. If you see a red icon with white flag, just ignore it.

Howto insert a new event (e.g. outreach) in the NEWS website
- Go to the NEWS internal homepage
- Click the link “Add New NEWS event” under the Resources section. You will be redirected to a “Add New Event” page
- Fill the title of the event, the date and the location, as well as any other useful information
- If you want to add tags describing your file, please add it under the “Tags” tab
- Under the “Categories” tab click the appropriate one (e.g. outreach)
- If you want to make the file visible only to the Management Board (MB), or the Scientific Board (SB), click on the related boxes. Usually, leave these boxes blank
- to finalize the procedure, click on the “Publish” button
- In order to make sure that the file has been correctly added, go to the list of events (e.g. outreach)
- You’re done! If you have any problem with this template, just drop an email
